Best Holiday Light Displays in Metro Vancouver (2026)

Nine Metro Vancouver holiday light displays, ranked on the quality of the lights, what else there is to do, value for a family, and how easy they are to reach. Each 2026 season was checked on the official site on Oct 21, 2026. Prices are only those printed there and change by date. Where 2026 dates are not posted yet, the entry says so. This is a short list on purpose: displays we could not confirm for 2026 were left out.

Canyon Lights at Capilano Suspension Bridge Park

The most dramatic setting in the region: the suspension bridge, Cliffwalk and Treetops Adventure are all lit, and the WildLight 3D projection puts animals into the rainforest. The 2026 season runs Nov 20, 2026 to Jan 10, 2027, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., closed Dec 25. It is included with regular park admission, which is not cheap, so arrive by mid-afternoon to see the canyon in daylight and after dark on one ticket.

Noel Surrey with Bright Nights, Cloverdale Fairgrounds

Bright Nights left Stanley Park when the park train went out of service, and it now runs as part of Noel Surrey at the Cloverdale Fairgrounds, Nov 27 to Dec 29, 2026, 3 to 9:30 p.m. Firefighters still build the light walk around the pond, and it remains the main fundraiser for the BC Professional Fire Fighters Burn Fund. Adult tickets start at $24, youth and seniors from $18, and kids 6 and under are free.

VanDusen Festival of Lights

The city's signature light show fills VanDusen Botanical Garden with over a million lights. It runs every year from late November to early January on timed tickets, but as of Oct 21 neither the garden nor the City of Vancouver had posted 2026 dates or prices on a page we could read. Watch for the on-sale date: weekends and holidays sell out.

Peak of Christmas at Grouse Mountain

The only display here that is genuinely in the snow, usually. Grouse lists Peak of Christmas for Nov 20 to Dec 24, 2026, with a Light Walk around Blue Grouse Lake entered through a light tunnel, plus the outdoor skating pond. It is included with a Mountain Admission ticket or pass; skate rental is $10 for adults and $6 for kids. Go on a clear evening, when the city lights below are half the show.

Lights at Lafarge, Coquitlam

The best free option in the region, and the city calls it Metro Vancouver's largest free outdoor winter lights display. Lights line the loop around Lafarge Lake, an easy flat walk next to the Lafarge Lake-Douglas SkyTrain station. The 2026 kick-off is Friday Nov 27, 5 to 8 p.m.; the season end date is not posted yet. The city warns that emails asking for a "$300 registration fee" are not from them.

Glow Langley

Glow is a ticketed walk-through light show in Langley, built around a theme and photo spots rather than a natural landscape. Its 10th season runs Nov 19, 2026 to Jan 2, 2027 at 6690 216 St in Langley, with free parking. Online prices are $19.99 for adults and $14.99 for youth and seniors (plus fees), and a family ticket for five is $69.99. Closed Sundays, so plan around that.

Festive Village at Burnaby Village Museum

The renamed Heritage Christmas: a lit-up 1920s-style village with heritage buildings, decorated streets and a vintage carousel. It runs Nov 25, 2026 to Jan 3, 2027, 2 to 9 p.m., Wednesday to Sunday until Dec 13 and daily from Dec 16, closed Dec 24 and 25. Gate admission is free and carousel rides are $2.86 plus tax. Best for younger kids and anyone who prefers charm to spectacle.

Vancouver Christmas Market, Jack Poole Plaza

A German-style market more than a light show, but after dark the waterfront plaza by the Olympic cauldron is one of the most festive spots downtown. It runs Nov 16 to Dec 24, 2026. New this year are German village facades, a Wishing Forest and a hidden cocktail window. Entry is ticketed by time slot and prices are not on the homepage, so check the ticket site before going.

Lights of Hope at St. Paul's Hospital

Lights of Hope covers the front of St. Paul's Hospital on Burrard Street in stars and lights to raise money for the hospital. 2026 is the last year on Burrard, before the new hospital opens in early 2027, and the final celebration night is Nov 12. It is free to see. A donation of $1,000 or more names a star. A quick stop, not an outing, but a meaningful one this year.
