NA beers worth stocking for holiday guests and Dry January, ranked on taste, how close they come to the real thing, and how easy they are to buy in Canada, the US and the UK. ABV is as stated by each brewer on Oct 21; "0.0" and "under 0.5%" are different claims, and pregnant or recovering drinkers may care which. Calories are per brewer and serving sizes vary. Athletic Brewing Run Wild IPA

The NA craft brand to beat, and the one to put out if guests drink IPAs. Athletic labels its range under 0.5% ABV and sells through US, Canadian, UK and EU storefronts; its Canadian site lists Run Wild at about $17 a six-pack. Upside Dawn (golden, 45 calories per 12 oz) is the easier pick for lager drinkers. Brewed in Connecticut and San Diego.

Heineken 0.0

The safest bet for a mixed crowd: it tastes like a lager, it's sold almost everywhere, and the claim is stricter than most. Heineken says a maximum of 0.03% ABV, made by brewing twice, removing the alcohol by vacuum distillation, and adding natural flavourings. It has 21 kcal per 100 ml, about 69 in a 33 cl bottle, roughly half of regular Heineken.

Guinness 0.0

The stout people actually ask for. Guinness brews it as normal and then removes the alcohol by cold filtration, which it says avoids heat stress on the flavour, and the product page gives alcohol as 0%. 17 kcal per 100 ml. It still pours with the roasty, creamy profile that makes it work by a fire in December, and it is the obvious NA pick if your table drinks dark beer.

Partake Pale

The Canadian pick, and the one for calorie-counters: Partake lists its Pale at 10 calories and 4 g carbs, under 0.5% ABV, hopped with notes of orange zest, grapefruit and pine. It ships across Canada from its own store at $29.99 for a 12-pack, with a 15% subscription discount. Its Hop Twist is labelled 0% for anyone who needs zero. It is lighter-bodied than Athletic.

ERDINGER Alkoholfrei

Marketed to athletes as an isotonic recovery drink, and the best NA option for hefeweizen fans. ERDINGER lists it at under 0.5% vol, 25 kcal per 100 ml, isotonic, with added vitamins B9 and B12. In a tall glass it has the banana-clove nose of a proper weissbier. The 500 ml bottle is a lot of beer for a dinner party, so it suits a relaxed afternoon better.

Lucky Saint Unfiltered Lager

The UK's dedicated NA brewer, with its own pub in London's W1. Lucky Saint's unfiltered lager is 0.5% and tastes like a soft, bready helles. It's UK-focused, priced in pounds and on tap across Britain. Note: in Sept 2026 it recalled certain 4 x 330 ml Hazy IPA multipacks sold at Tesco and Sainsbury's over can pressure; the lager was not affected, per its notice.

Corona Cero

Corona's alcohol-free version, listed on its Canadian site at 0.0% ABV and 60 calories, against 4.5% and 148 calories for Corona Extra. It is light and easy to drink and needs a lime wedge for the full effect, the right bottle for a summer-in-December party or anyone who wants something that looks like a regular beer. Little depth, but that's not what it's for.

Budweiser Zero

The cheap 0.0 for a cooler full of guests. Budweiser lists it at 0% ABV, 50 calories, 11.5 g carbs and 0 g sugar per 12 oz. It tastes like a lighter, sweeter Bud, which is either the point or the problem. If you need cases of something for designated drivers at a hockey party, this is the cheapest way to do it with a 0.0% label.

Clausthaler Original

The veteran: Clausthaler has made non-alcoholic beer since the 1970s and says it brews to the German purity law with its own technique. The Original is a crisp, clean German lager at 26 kcal per 100 ml, and the range adds Grapefruit and a dry-hopped IPA. Its English product page doesn't give an ABV figure, so check the can if the exact number matters to you.

BERO Kingston Golden Pils

Tom Holland's NA brand, born in London and brewed in America, with US and UK online stores. The Kingston Golden Pils is the clean, easy one in a range that also includes a West Coast IPA, a hazy IPA and a wheat beer, plus a limited Spider-Man can back for Halloween. The site doesn't give ABV or calorie figures and doesn't mention Canada, so check the can.
