Whisker's most affordable Litter-Robot, launched in Canada at $899 CAD alongside the 5. It keeps the core self-cleaning, odour control and connected insights in a more compact body aimed at apartments and first-time owners. You give up some of the 5's newer sensor and dashboard features. For one or two cats in a smaller home, it is the sensible Litter-Robot.

Catit PIXI Smart Fountain

A cat fountain from the Quebec-based Catit brand that adds a UV-C cleaning cycle and app alerts for refills and filter changes. The maker says the UV-C stage cleanses the water of 99 percent of potential bacteria and viruses. Many cats drink more from moving water, which is the whole point of a fountain. The app is free with no in-app purchases.

Schedule meals, dispense a snack remotely, and get notified when a meal is served or the hopper is low. PetSmart Canada and Pet Valu list it at $139.99 CAD. It works with the same free Catit app as the fountain.
