Post-promo it is the cheapest mainstream kit in the country at roughly $8.99 to $11.99 a serving, and shipping is built into that on every plan except the smallest 2-serving, 2-recipe box, which pays about $6. That exception is the whole comparison: a rival that charges roughly $10 a week in delivery costs you around $500 a year that no free-meals promo ever gives back.

HelloFresh Canada

The biggest headline in the country and the one that most needs decoding. Offers advertised as up to 20 or 23 free meals, or up to $200 off, are spread across roughly the first seven boxes, and the free sides for life footnote resolves to one free item per box while your subscription stays active. Meanwhile shipping is a flat fee of roughly $9.99 to $10.99 per box with no exceptions, including during the promo.

Read the offer, then read the filing. Goodfood Market Corp. obtained CCAA creditor protection on 5 August 2026 and says it will keep operating while it runs a restructuring and a court-supervised sale process. Active subscribers have fallen from roughly 250,000 in August 2021 to about 48,000 by June 2026, and revenue from roughly $379M in fiscal 2021 to $121M in fiscal 2025. The pricing is competitive. The multi-box promo is a bet.

HelloFresh standing discount programs (student, youth and senior, essential worker)

Not a signup promo, which is exactly why it is worth knowing: HelloFresh Canada lists three ongoing discount programs - a student discount through Student Beans, a youth and seniors discount, and an essential workers discount. A standing percentage off every box usually beats a one-time promo pool once you pass the sixth or seventh box, because the promo has by then expired and the standing discount has not.

Factor

Prepared meals, not a kit - it arrives cooked and you microwave it - which makes the per-serving comparison misleading unless you account for the fact that you are also buying the labour. Advertised at $75 off for new customers, with regular pricing around $11.99 to $14.99 a serving. Delivery covers Ontario, Quebec and the Maritimes plus Manitoba, which is a narrower footprint than the national kits above.

Chef-prepared meals with the tightest delivery footprint on this list - Toronto and parts of Ontario only - and a flat 30% off for new customers rather than a multi-box pool, which makes the arithmetic unusually easy. Regular pricing runs about $9.00 to $12.59 a meal, which is competitive against a kit once you value the cooking time you are not spending.

A Quebec-rooted prepared-meal service running roughly $11.25 to $14.95 a meal depending on plan size, with free delivery across Ontario, Quebec and parts of Atlantic Canada. The pricing structure is the useful part: the per-meal figure drops as the plan grows, so the way to make this cheap is a bigger weekly order, not a promo code.

Cook it (now folded into Fresh Prep)

Here because people still search for Cook it promo codes and still find them. The Quebec service merged with Fresh Prep in 2024 and its offers are no longer independently redeemable - any Cook it code you find on a coupon aggregator is either dead or redirects into a Fresh Prep signup. Go straight to Fresh Prep and compare its current offer instead of hunting a legacy code.

Porta

Last because it is the hardest to verify. Canadian meal-kit comparison sites list Porta at around 20% off for new customers with the narrowest delivery footprint of anything here, and it does not publish the plan-level pricing detail the larger services do. Check that it actually delivers to your postal code before you plan a week of meals around the discount.
